UPNEEQ®

This New Eye Drop Lifts Droopy Eyelids Without Surgery!

Your eyes are often one of the first things others notice when they look at you. They can be very expressive, helping to show your emotions. If you look in the mirror, you can see how your eyes respond when you smile, frown, or are excited or angry.

Droopy, sagging eyelids can make you appear tired, even when you’re wide awake. They can also limit your field of vision, affecting how you see. This sagging is a condition known as eyelid ptosis or blepharoptosis, which can be caused by aging, genetics, or certain health issues.

You may have wanted to look older when you were younger, but as an adult, you probably prefer a more youthful appearance. You don’t want sleepy-looking eyes having people questioning your actual age. Previously, a surgical eyelid lift or blepharoplasty was one of the only options for improving the appearance of your eyes. Today, there are non-surgical options as well.

How does Upneeq work?

Upneeq contains an ingredient called oxymetazoline hydrochloride. If you’ve ever used a decongestant spray to open your nasal passages and help you breathe better, it may contain the same ingredient. However, when applied to your eyes, it causes your muscles to contract, gently raising your eyelids. Within about 15 minutes, most patients experience around a 1 mm lift, which doesn’t seem like much, but it can cause a noticeable difference in how open your eyes appear.

This slight lift can make you look more awake, alert, and youthful, refreshing your appearance and boosting your self-esteem.

Is there any downtime?

Unlike surgery, which requires healing and recovery time, Upneeq works almost immediately without downtime. The eyedrops start working within five to 15 minutes. Some patients experience minimal side effects, including dryness, redness, or irritation, but many have a positive response. Upneeq comes in single-use vials with enough solution to treat both eyes.

Can Upneeq be used with contacts?

Yes! Wearing contacts does not prevent you from using this noninvasive treatment. Simply apply the eyedrops first, wait at least 15 minutes, and then insert your contacts.

What warnings and precautions are associated with Upneeq?

Upneeq is a type of medication that may affect your blood pressure. If you have heart disease, uncontrolled high or low blood pressure, or feel faint at rest or when quickly standing up, you should call your doctor if your symptoms get worse.

Patients with reduced blood flow to the brain or heart, or patients who experience eye or mouth dryness due to an immune system disorder (Sjögren’s syndrome), should use care when taking Upneeq. Call your doctor immediately if you feel your symptoms may be getting worse.

Upneeq may increase the risk of eye pressure due to fluid buildup (angle-closure glaucoma) in patients with untreated narrow-angle glaucoma. Call your doctor immediately if you feel increased pressure in your eye after using Upneeq.

Do not let the tip of the Upneeq vial touch your eye or any other surface. This can help prevent eye injury or contamination. Each Upneeq vial is for one-time use and should be discarded after being used
